A blend with history! The ‘five’ in this blend in traditional Chinese medicine refers to the 5 elements: wood, fire, earth, metal, and water. Various herbs and spices have been used for thousands of years to restore balance to these elements, which is how 5-spice powder came into being. Chinese Five Spice blends sour, bitter, sweet, pungent and salty flavours and is a blend of star anise, fennel, pepper, cinnamon and cloves.
Ingredients: Aniseed, fennel, pepper, cinnamon, cloves.
